Psychiatric Technician - LTE

About the role

The Mental Health Center is certified to provide mental health and substance use inpatient treatment services and maintains a close working relationship with Waukesha Memorial Hospital and other community agencies and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized care to community members working towards bettering their mental health.
  • Contribute to society and Waukesha County by providing meaningful participation of consumers and their recovery teams (families or other chosen support systems).
  • Maintain a high percentage of time with patients delivering specialized care.
  • Work with experienced clinical leaders to master new clinical skills.
  • Be creative and suggest new paths to patients.
  • Ongoing training for personal and professional development.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or GED equivalent.
  • Two years of recognized post high school education with at least two courses in psychology, sociology, or social work.
  • Six months of patient care experience in a mental health setting or a residential treatment center for mentally ill or developmentally disabled or related area.
  • Completions of two semesters of clinical education as a nursing student in a recognized nursing education program.
  • Possession of a valid State of Wisconsin CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification.

The staff also strives to provide active participation and consumer feedback through the CCS Coordinating Committee.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to be creative and suggest new paths to patients, ongoing training for personal and professional development, and the ability to build skills and efficiently utilize available resources, including natural supports, to achieve positive recovery outcomes.
