Psychiatric Support Assistant - Full time
Schedule
Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with an hour unpaid lunch/break daily.
Job Duties
- Supports Zoom telehealth platform sessions and phone sessions.
- Ensures timely client flow through scheduled services.
- Follows department procedures for Avatar entries to ensure the quality and integrity of the data entry.
- Serves as back-up to other Central Intake or Front Office Operations overflow as assigned.
- Schedules appointments for clients and providers.
- Provides confirmation and follow-up calls for future and missed appointments.
- Covers for other staff during overflow situations.
- Coordinates that the guardian or legally authorized person and youth are present for meetings.
- Assists with internal referrals for additional services.
- Updates client paperwork and coordinates updating treatment plans.
- Provides education to clients and families regarding the use of the Medication Line.
- Reports all risks to supervisor and ensures that risk notes and safety plans are completed as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in a medical practice or behavioral health setting.
- Experience with HIPAA, consents to treat, and releases of information.
- Problem-solving computer and telephonic access issues with others.
- Knowledge of the general process of psychiatric visits and ability to educate clients and families on the process.
- Computer literate and experience with an electronic medical records system.
- Familiarity with the Zoom Platform.
- Positive disposition and non-judgmental attitude.
- Excellent customer service, telephone skills, and schedule experience.
Skills
- Knowledge of electronic medical records systems.
- Ability to navigate through required documents for identifying those that need completing or updating.
- Ability to operate multi-line switchboard, copy machine, personal computer, calculator, fax machine, and credit card machine.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Familiarity with the Zoom Platform.
