Psychiatric Social Worker

Member of an interdisciplinary team providing direct assessment, diagnosis formulation, treatment planning, treatment intervention, and psycho-education to members and/or family members. Must be familiar with all aspects of psychopathology and recognize appropriate and timely clinical treatment interventions.

Responsibilities

• Timely and appropriate assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment intervention of members.
• Appropriate selection of treatment modality to address members' presenting problems.
• Effective communication of clinical material to members and clinical staff.
• Provide high internal and external customer/patient satisfaction.
• Demonstrate expertise in a variety of treatment methodologies.
• Provide appropriate and timely documentation of clinical encounters in members' charts.
• Knowledgeable of KP and community resources.
• Adhere to all mandated guidelines for patient clinical care and licensure.
• Maintain licensure.
• Conduct initial interviews with members, eliciting and interpreting psychological and social meanings of complaints.
• Determine urgency of members' needs and provide professional interpretation of members' presentations.
• Recommend courses of therapeutic action and select appropriate treatment modalities.
• Provide treatment to adults, adolescents, and children.
• Render appropriate and immediate guidance and therapy for members in crisis or in need of clinical services.
• Maintain written records of therapy, prepare reports and letters, and communicate with social agencies, schools, relatives, and friends (with member permission) to obtain pertinent information.
• Provide clinical consultation in an integrated healthcare environment regarding family interactions, sociocultural determinants, and community resources.
• Provide telephone assessment, counseling, resource information, and referrals.
• Proficient in identifying and treating across the span of developmental stages.
• Proficient in various treatment modalities including individual, group, family, and child therapy.
• Comply with organizational, departmental, state/federal guidelines, and all regulatory agency policies and procedures.
• Participate in Quality Management (QM) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years post-graduate mental health therapy experience within the last five (5) years.
• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or other field related to behavioral health.
• Knowledge of and ability to utilize current DSM nomenclature.
• Consistently demonstrate the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service.
• Comfortable treating members across the lifespan.
• Ability to provide services utilizing various modalities (group, case management, therapy, etc.).

Qualifications

• Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California), OR
• Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (California), OR
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California).
• National Provider Identifier.

Pay

$59.45 - $75.90 per hour.
