- Attractive pay range: $50,000 - $91,400

Responsibilities
- Perform initial nursing evaluation, including behavioral health/psychiatric nursing needs
- Observe and evaluate the physical and mental status of the patient for complications and medication side effects
- Maintain awareness of behavioral indicators requiring changes in treatment modality (e.g., crisis, suicidal ideation) and other medical signs/symptoms
- Instruct patient/caregiver in cognitive and technical aspects of care, medication regimes, disease processes, safety interventions, ADL care, coping skills, symptom management, and other interventions
- Administer IM medications, perform lab draws, and collect specimens
- Act as a case manager to coordinate patient care
- Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Supervise LPNs and HHAs
- Regularly communicate patient progress to the clinical manager, psychiatrist, and care team
Requirements
- Current RN license specific to the state(s) of assignment
- One of the following to meet CMS requirements for psychiatric nursing in home care:
- Master’s degree in mental health nursing or psychiatric specialty and nursing experience in an acute treatment unit or other psychiatric setting
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing and one year of recent nursing experience in an acute treatment unit or other psychiatric setting
- Diploma or associate’s degree in nursing and two years of recent nursing experience in an acute treatment unit or other psychiatric setting
- Experience must be within the last 3–5 years; otherwise, documentation of psychiatric retraining, classes, or CEUs to update knowledge is required
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance
