Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including medical history and mental status examinations
- Assist in diagnosing mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising psychiatrists
- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, ensuring effective management of side effects and patient adherence
- Conduct thorough evaluations to assess appropriateness for Spravato treatment, provide education, and set patient expectations for care
- Observe and monitor patient vital signs in office during Spravato treatments; ensure patient safety and effective management throughout the process
- Conduct thorough evaluations to assess appropriateness for IV Ketamine treatment (if applicable), provide education, and set patient expectations for care
- Observe and monitor patient vital signs in office during IV Ketamine treatments; ensure patient safety and effective management throughout the process
- Work in tandem with the Psychiatrist/TMS Provider to conduct follow-ups, motor threshold mapping, and evaluation of new patients for TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation)
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling to patients, employing evidence-based techniques
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies
- Maintain a thorough and comprehensive understanding of all treatment modalities offered at Relief to ensure individualized care and referrals when appropriate
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including Therapists, Social Workers, Providers, Clinical Assistants, and additional support staff to ensure comprehensive care
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records, documenting assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes; complete and sign all treatment notes within 48 hours of the appointment
- Respond to psychiatric emergencies and provide crisis intervention as needed
- Stay updated on advancements in psychiatric medicine and maintain required certifications
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health
- Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner and certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- Prior experience in psychiatric or mental health settings required
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and clinical skills; strong compassion and empathy for patients and their families
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions
- Knowledge of all healthcare regulations and confidentiality protocols, including HIPAA
- Ability to learn and maintain Electronic Health Record system
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and Google Suite
