Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – NP – PMHNP – Adult Ambulatory Services

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapeutic interventions for adult patients with diverse mental health conditions.
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and patient-centered care.
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide medication management and monitor treatment efficacy and side effects.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
• Offer psychoeducation to patients and families on mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support crisis intervention efforts and risk assessment as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 plus years of experience as an Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
• DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances in New York.
• Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, evidence-based treatments, and behavioral health interventions.
• Able to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.

Preferred Criteria

• Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• Current NYS Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP).
• Board Certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.

Pay

$169,694-$187,854/Annual

Schedule

(30hrs/week) benefits eligible position; with 4 days/or 5days option, including opportunity to work remote (1 to 2 days) at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
