About the role
Mercy Care Atlanta is seeking a compassionate and mission-driven Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide high-quality, trauma-informed psychiatric care to underserved populations within our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide psychiatric medication management and ongoing follow-up care.
- Deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based behavioral health services.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists through APRN Protocol Agreements.
- Work closely with primary care providers, therapists, social workers, and care teams in an integrated care model.
- Support patients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Participate in community outreach events and health fairs 3–4 times annually.
- Promote equitable healthcare access and positive patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree from an accredited nursing program.
- Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), or Nurse Practitioner with psychiatric experience.
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner licensure in the State of Georgia.
- Minimum one year of clinical experience working with individuals experiencing mental illness and substance use disorders preferred.
- Experience in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment preferred.
- Knowledge of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and buprenorphine treatment is a plus.
- Bilingual Spanish/English skills strongly preferred.
