About The Position
The Advanced Psychiatric Practitioner – Neurotherapy Provider is responsible for conducting neurofeedback sessions, performing clinical assessments, managing treatment plans, and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary team members. This role blends traditional psychiatric practice with neurofeedback-based therapeutic interventions to support patients with behavioral, cognitive, and emotional challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct neurofeedback training sessions using approved equipment, protocols, and evidence-based practices.
- Absess patient readiness, tolerance, and response to neurofeedback interventions and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
- Perform neurotherapy sessions and cognitive rehabilitation treatment according to patient need.
- Interpret neurofeedback session data and patient progress to inform treatment decisions.
- Provide patient education on neurofeedback methodology, expectations, and care plans.
- Partner with therapists, psychiatrists, and care teams to support integrated treatment planning.
- Communicate progress updates, clinical concerns, and treatment recommendations to the care team and leadership as appropriate.
- Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and program development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license in the state of practice.
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Experience providing psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management.
- Strong clinical documentation skills and comfort with electronic health record systems.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining collaborative relationships with care teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior training or experience with neurofeedback, biofeedback, or related modalities.
- Experience working in behavioral health, long-term care, outpatient clinics, or neurocognitive treatment programs.
- Familiarity with QEEG, brain mapping, or functional neurotherapeutic interventions.
