About the role
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide mental health services in long-term care and nursing home facilities. This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver impactful psychiatric care to an often-overlooked population.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric care to geriatric patients in long-term care and nursing home facilities
- Collaborate with medical directors, nurses, and social workers in a supportive care environment
- Build meaningful relationships and continuity with your patient panel
- Work in a low-stress, predictable work environment with non-hospital settings
- Offer flexible scheduling options including part-time and full-time positions
- Engage in local travel with day-to-day variety across multiple facilities
Requirements
- Certified PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner)
- Active, unrestricted state license
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with geriatric or long-term care populations preferred (not required)
- Prior experience as a Psychiatric RN or Psychiatric NP in a nursing home or similar setting is a plus
