About this Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Board-certified Psychiatrist to join our outpatient community mental health center serving the behavioral/mental health needs of patients and families in Adams and Broomfield Counties (North Denver), Colorado. Under limited supervision, you will provide direct comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, treatment planning, and medication management. You will participate as a member of a treatment team, ensuring clinicians receive appropriate psychiatric input, and provide care that recognizes human potential, is empathic, and demonstrates unconditional positive regard while promoting safety, comfort, and a therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides psychiatric assessment, pharmacological management, medication education, treatment planning, and psychotherapy as assigned.
  • Documents intervention and program activity and maintains accurate and timely clinical records according to Community Reach Center policies and procedures. Maintains confidentiality of consumer records.
  • Keeps up to date on current research and state-of-the-art knowledge regarding mental illness, especially psychopharmacology of major mental illness according to prevailing standards from professional organizations and community.
  • Consults with clinicians, case managers, and other program staff, and family members of consumers for ongoing clinical needs and treatment plans.
  • Coordinates and attends meetings as appropriate and as agreed upon with supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of the position and program description, reflective of experience, education, and ability.

Qualifications

  • Holds an MD or DO degree from an accredited allopathic or osteopathic medical school.
  • Completed U.S. residency program.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with hospitals, courts, law enforcement, and other community agencies and professionals.
  • Ability to provide high-quality clinical treatment in a managed care setting.
  • Skill in differential assessment, especially for persons with chronic mental illness, dual diagnosis, mental illness/developmental disabilities, mental illness/substance disorders, and adult/older adults or children/adolescents.
  • Ability to make difficult clinical decisions in the best interest of consumers while making the most appropriate use of available resources.
  • Can function as a team member, giving and receiving feedback, using conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, and participating in program planning.
  • DEA License required.

Schedule

  • Full and part-time positions available.
  • In-office and hybrid in-office/telehealth schedules available.

Pay

$212,000 to $267,000 annually for full-time hours.
