Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
Rockbridge Area Health Center (RAHC) is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our integrated behavioral health team on a part-time basis. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), RAHC provides integrated medical, behavioral health, dental, and supportive services to address the whole health of our patients.
About the role
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at RAHC, you will provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing treatment for patients with a range of behavioral health needs. You will practice as part of an integrated care team, collaborating closely with behavioral health clinicians and primary care providers to develop coordinated treatment plans and improve patient outcomes. This position is ideal for an experienced PMHNP who values clinical autonomy, interdisciplinary support, and the flexibility of a part-time practice.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management
- Deliver ongoing treatment for patients with behavioral health needs
- Collaborate with behavioral health clinicians and primary care providers to develop coordinated treatment plans
Requirements
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification (PMHNP-BC)
- Current, unrestricted Virginia APRN licensure or eligibility to obtain Virginia licensure
- Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain
- Eligible to participate in Medicare and Medicaid
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with hands-on practicum
- Previous psychiatric/behavioral health practice experience required
- Commitment to evidence-based, compassionate, patient-centered care
