What You Will Do

• Partners with patients and families to implement plan of care, treatments, and procedures that contribute to the physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient.
• Incorporates evidence-based standards of practice.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in the coordination of care.
• Facilitates safe patient transitions to the next care setting as part of the plan of care.
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput to assure patients receive consistent, competent, and ethical care.
• Focuses on quality outcomes of patient care when addressing customer's needs, including current evidence-based practice and quality measures.
• Demonstrates effective nursing skills (vitals, blood sugars, administering treatments and medications) in completing tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Fulfills phlebotomy responsibilities.
• Demonstrates understanding of diverse patient care populations and ability to modify educational approaches to ensure patient/family comprehension.
• Evaluates for patient comprehension and documents responses.
• Demonstrates the ability to build trusting collaborative relationships with peers and multidisciplinary team to support patient care needs.
• Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrates task prioritization appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and ensure patient care needs are met.
• Able to recognize and respond to emergency situations.
• Able to recognize and respond to emergency situations.
• Evaluates own needs for support and uses identified systems/resources to obtain assistance.

Qualifications

• Program Graduate, Practical Nursing (Required)
• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• 1 year Acute care experience (Preferred)
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire (Required)
• CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (Required)
