Job Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated PSG (Platform Screen Gates) Technician to work on our Honolulu Rail Project. As the successful candidate, your ideas for continuous improvement and creativity are welcome. The position is based in Pearl City, HI.

Accountabilities

• Performs routine, preventive and unscheduled maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, lubrication and proper maintenance on assigned PSG (Platform Screen Gates) equipment in accordance with wiring diagrams, schematics, operations and maintenance manuals.
• Observes PSG system components and devices in operation to detect potential failures and locate causes of malfunction.
• Responds to PSG malfunctions completing repairs as assigned.
• Uses electronic test equipment and other specialized tools as required.
• Completes assigned operational, equipment failure, safety, and other reports as required.
• Participates in training programs as required.
• Complies with Safety Rules, Operating Rulebook, and first-aid procedures.

Required Education/Skills

• 1-3 years experience in electronic equipment maintenance.
• Ability to use common and specialized tools and test equipment.
• Knowledge of, or the ability to attain knowledge of the safety rules regarding lock-out protection while working on the line and the rules governing the protection of traffic.
• Ability to use and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturers' maintenance instructions, Operating Rulebook, etc., and to comprehend the operations and maintenance of PSG system.
• Must have a valid US state's driver's license.
