PS Research Study Coordinator
The Behavioral Sleep Medicine Laboratory (P.I. Kelly Baron, PhD, MPH) is seeking a full-time research staff member to join a passionate team working on projects focused on sleep, cardiometabolic disease, and aging in diverse populations. Studies range from mechanistic to community-engaged research on sleep and health, conducted in both Spanish and English.
About the role
This outpatient position involves leading a research project, including participant screening and scheduling, data collection coordination, participant retention, and training/supervising undergraduate research assistants. Evening hours (approximately 4-6 per month) are required for assessments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the research study team, including regulatory (IRB) tasks and supporting the PI in collecting information for NIH reports.
- Collaborate with the study team to meet participant recruitment and screening goals.
- Schedule and conduct study assessments, including administering questionnaires, cognitive assessments, and managing sleep measurement equipment setup/download.
- Comply with ethical standards for human subjects research.
- Complete additional activities as delegated by the PI and project director.
- Contribute to scientific manuscripts and abstracts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree (or equivalent training) in a health-related field (e.g., nursing, social work, psychology, kinesiology, nutrition, counseling).
- At least 2 years of research experience.
- Effective communication skills.
- Verbal and written fluency in Spanish is preferred.
Schedule
Full-time in-office presence is required for up to six months (or longer, depending on probationary period completion). Hybrid work may be possible afterward. Some evenings or weekends are needed to accommodate participant schedules and recruitment.
Pay
$55,000, dependent on qualifications.
