PS Nurse Practitioner - Heart Failure/Transplant
Job Summary
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner with at least one year of experience in cardiac patients to join their Heart Failure/Transplant team. The University of Utah Health Sciences is dedicated to enhancing health and well-being through patient care, research, and education.
Responsibilities
- Affords physical assessments and obtains medical histories for groups of patients.
- Formulates medical plans and prognoses based on patient conditions.
- Consults with physicians regarding patient health care plans and treatments.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and address patient health issues.
- Performs selected invasive procedures for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes within validated competence.
- Initiates and recommends medical drug therapies or other forms of treatment in accordance with approved protocols.
- Maintains compliance with medical records policies for complete and accurate documentation of patient care.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
- Counsels patients, families, and significant others on health and illness, and promotes health maintenance.
- Administers emergency measures and evaluates, plans, implements, and re-evaluates patient care.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Utah.
- Licensure obtained through a Master's degree in Nursing or equivalency (only an equivalency to the Master's degree is a current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner).
- National Certification completed successfully.
- Utah State prescriptive privileges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred certification in ACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS.

Work Schedule Summary: Daytime shifts only. No call (outside of regular working hours). The exact schedule is TBD (anticipated to be 8–10-hour shifts, including weekends and some holidays).
