Responsibilities
- Load Planning: create loads for drivers to transport; load shipments into McLeod; communicate with customers on short pays; resolve issues on unbilled orders.
- Fleet Management (Driver Manager): assist with directing drivers to fitting loads; arrange vacation time for drivers; be first point of contact for any employment related issues; learn fundamentals of fleet manager position and opportunity to manage own small fleet of drivers.
- Reporting: learn importance of reports; create reports to track revenue and loaded trucks.
- Safety and Risk Management: learn Hours-of-Service regulations and impact; learn importance of cargo securement and equipment maintenance and how they affect shipment safety and driver safety.
- Asset Management and Maintenance: learn process to attain and maintain assets (trucks); understand how maintenance impacts daily operations of drivers and business.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college or university with a concentration in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Information Systems.
- 2.5 GPA or greater.
- This is an hourly position with no guarantees for career progression.
