About the role
Advanced Behavioral Health, Inc. is seeking Therapeutic Mentors to work directly with youth aged 5-17 in both one-on-one and group settings. Mentors will collaborate with each client’s treatment team to support their progress towards treatment goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic activities and opportunities that encourage healthy social interactions, behavior modifications, self-care skills, independent living skills, and coping skill practice.
- Coach, train, and support clients in linking to community resources to help them achieve their goals.
- Transport clients to and from clinics and community events.
- Maintain regular contact with clients, their families, and the treatment team.
- Facilitate ongoing clinical collaboration with GMY Directors, Site Directors, Clinical Supervisors, and Prescribers to ensure a continuous care plan.
- Assess clients' needs and develop treatment goals, implementing rehabilitation activities based on their needs as outlined in their individual treatment plans.
- Manage a caseload of clients, meeting with each weekly.
- Attend and complete required supervision and training sessions.
- Respond promptly to communication from clients, families, referral sources, and ABH staff.
- Comply with relevant regulations including CARF, COMAR, HIPAA, State compliance, and EMR standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a health-related field, or equivalent college credits.
- One year of work experience in a supervised mental health setting, or proof of completion of 30 hours of coursework towards a bachelor’s degree in a health-related field.
- Prior experience working with troubled youth is preferred.
- Excellent working knowledge and use of an Electronic Medical Records system (EMR) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Status & Compensation
Status: Part-Time to Full-Time
Compensation: Fee for Service, Full-Time status averages $48,000 - $65,000 annually
