Responsibilities
- Safely operate launch vessels in Provincetown Harbor while adhering to all maritime regulations and marina policies.
- Provide first-class customer service to marina guests, transient boaters, and mooring customers.
- Auxiliary in assisting passengers boarding and disembarking launch vessels safely.
- Transport guests, crew, luggage, provisions, and supplies to and from vessels on moorings.
- Maintain clear and professional communication via VHF radio with marina staff, guests, and harbor traffic.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vessel inspections and complete daily vessel checklists.
- Monitor weather and harbor conditions to ensure safe operations.
- Assist with fueling, cleaning, and routine maintenance of launch vessels.
- Maintain cleanliness of vessels, launch docks, waiting areas, and associated facilities.
- Support marina events and activities that may occur outside normal operating hours.
- Provide local knowledge and recommendations to visitors, helping create a memorable Provincetown experience.
- Contribute to a positive, safe, and professional team environment.
- Perform additional marina-related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Must possess a valid U.S. Coast Guard Launch Operator's License (OUPV/6-Pack or greater).
- Valid driver's license required.
- Previous boating experience required; launch, passenger vessel, or commercial vessel experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate small commercial passenger vessels.
- Ability to use VHF radio communications professionally.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to swim.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
- Knowledge of Provincetown and Provincetown Harbor is highly desirable.
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and other peak operating periods as needed.
