Provider Compensation Manager
Job Summary
The Provider Compensation Manager serves as the organization's subject matter expert and operational leader for physician and advanced practice provider (APP) compensation strategy, administration, analytics, and governance. Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this position is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of provider compensation programs that support the organization's strategic, operational, financial, and workforce objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in provider compensation, healthcare finance, physician contracting, workforce analytics, provider operations, or a related field.
- Experience administering physician compensation programs and productivity-based compensation models required.
- Experience with provider compensation software platforms, such as Hallmark Heisenberg II, Clinician Nexus, SullivanCotter PPMT, or similar systems preferred.
- Thorough understanding of physician and APP compensation methodologies, productivity metrics, and incentive structures.
- Knowledge of healthcare provider compensation benchmarks and market survey data.
- Understanding of regulatory considerations affecting provider compensation.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate complex compensation concepts to executive, physician, and operational audiences.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Able to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Accurate and timely administration of provider compensation programs.
- Effective ownership and optimization of the provider compensation platform.
- Competitive, market-informed provider compensation offers and recommendations.
- Strong provider compensation governance and audit readiness.
- High-quality executive reporting and decision support.
- Positive partnerships with physician leaders, executives, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Human Resources.
- Advancement of strategic workforce and provider compensation objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, or related discipline) preferred.
- Experience working with Epic, Workday, and healthcare data environments preferred.
- Experience supporting executive leadership, physician leadership, or governance committees preferred.
Physical Demands
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
