Providence Security Officer – Newberg, Oregon Title: Security Officer Category: Hospital Security License: Unarmed Shift: Per Diem/On Call Pay: $22.44 to $34.33 (night differential, per diem, may add extra) Providence is hiring an on-call, day-shift Security Officer at Providence Newberg Medical Center in Newberg, Oregon. The Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, caregivers, physicians, property, and hospital facilities. This position responds to security incidents, conducts patrols, investigates reported misconduct, supports clinical staff, and helps enforce Providence facility and security policies. Primary Responsibilities Patrol hospital buildings, grounds, parking areas, and other assigned locations.Protect patients, visitors, caregivers, physicians, and property.Respond to disturbances, safety concerns, alarms, theft, vandalism, fire, and unauthorized entry.Investigate reports of potential criminal or unsafe conduct.Assist hospital staff with disruptive or combative patients.Help restrain patients when authorized and necessary.Detain individuals when appropriate or when directed by law enforcement.Provide security coverage for sensitive and high-risk areas.Conduct foot and vehicle patrols when assigned.Assist with patient transports, patient standbys, threat assessments, site surveys, and special security details.Complete accurate incident reports and other required documentation.Support other Providence facilities or affiliated organizations within the Oregon Region when needed. Required Qualifications Applicants must have one of the following upon hire: Oregon DPSST Armed/Unarmed Private Security Professional certification;Oregon DPSST Unarmed Private Security Professional certification; orOregon Private Security Temporary Work Permit, PS-20. Applicants must also have at least one year of experience using a personal computer and standard Microsoft applications. Driving may be required. Employees may be asked to provide proof of a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED.College coursework in criminal justice, psychology, social work, or another related social science.At least one year of security, law enforcement, corrections, reserve police, or military police experience.Previous direct patient-care or healthcare experience. Schedule This is an on-call, day-shift position at Providence Newberg Medical Center. Compensation The listed base pay range is $22.44 to $34.33 per hour. Starting pay is based on relevant experience and other applicable factors. Additional compensation may be available for overtime, shift differentials, standby assignments, extra shifts, premiums, or other incentives.
