Prototype Program Lead

About the role

Lead a team responsible for achieving project deliverables and performance objectives across Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Performance (QCDP) dimensions. Oversee both internal and external resources to ensure robust, high-quality outputs while driving continuous improvement and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Define team priorities to ensure all expected results and deliverables are achieved.
• Ensure the quality and relevance of team deliverables in alignment with project milestones.
• Direct activities to meet QCDP objectives, including value optimization, mass reduction, and complexity reduction targets.
• Supervise outsourced deliverables by validating input data, assessing quality, and implementing improvement plans.
• Anticipate and manage staffing requirements (internal and external) to align with project schedules.
• Manage workload and allocate resources to support program execution.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of key suppliers and operational plans for leveraging their capabilities.
• Participate in structured problem-solving (e.g., Problem Resolution, DFSS) and share best practices globally.
• Define and enforce team standards, verifying their application across all projects.
• Collaborate with the Global Technical Team on competitive benchmarking activities.
• Develop standards in cooperation with methods and expert teams.
• Coach and support team members through training, mentoring, and competency development.
• Conduct performance reviews, one-to-one meetings, and competency assessments.
• Define and monitor individual training plans.
• Lead safety initiatives, including shop-floor safety walks.
• Hold managerial and operational responsibility for teams of 5–10 employees plus contractors.
• Accountable for resources, results, and team composition (management and non-management).
• Provide forward-looking strategic vision and uphold regional standards.

Working Relationships

• Reports to the Discipline Manager.
• Provides guidance and direction to team members.
• Shares strategic vision with management as requested.
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, including service providers.
• Contributes to strategy discussions with partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of applicable experience.
• Fluent in English (able to lead meetings).
• Strong knowledge of the technical scope covered by the team.
