Proto Operations Engineer - 2nd Shift

About the role

Within ASML, the Development & Engineering (D&E) sector is responsible for the specification and design of ASML products. The Proto Operations team in the Foundation supports Top and Module integrations with (sub-)system level Test-Rigs, drives the planning of test activities, reports on status and progress, maintains and drives configurations and adjustments to the Test-Rigs, and ensures an integral test-rig roadmap for Wilton D&E.

As a Proto Engineer, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team that tests and integrates systems. The Wilton prototype modules consist of an intricate network of optics, electronics, mechatronics, and control systems. Your role is key to building a better product through testing, issue identification and resolution, and finding potential design and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Be an expert on Top module and system operations and troubleshooting to optimize uptime availability and minimize downtime.
• Operate and maintain test rigs used for design qualification, integration, reliability, and issue resolution.
• Contribute to an optimal design for the complete product and create product documentation for pilot production.
• Maintain and operate D&E test rigs for new product qualification, integration, and issue resolution.
• Review and contribute to test plans to ensure efficient use of the test rig.
• Ensure tests are executed by following the test plan and operational procedures.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and report issues in module design to improve system performance.
• Execute and/or assist with integration, build in/build out, and troubleshooting activities on test rigs.
• Provide technical support to other D&E engineers as a generalist.
• Monitor test rig performance within set parameters.
• Keep test rig hardware and software configurations up to date.
• Transfer machine status and issue list to the next shift (pass down).
• Ensure a safe working environment and work according to 5S principles.

Requirements

• BS degree in a technical field (Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics).
• Able to work unsupervised.
• Troubleshooting experience is a plus.
• Software Engineering background is a plus.

Schedule

This is a 2nd shift position with work hours from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.

Pay

There is a 10% differential increase in compensation associated with the 2nd shift.

• This position is located on-site and requires onsite presence for in-person work-related events, trainings, and meetings to ensure teamwork, collaboration, and innovation.
• Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
• Occasionally required to move around the campus.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
• May require travel (domestic and/or international) dependent on business needs.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Potential for exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage, and currents.
• This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work.
