Primary Responsibilities
- Cook up and oversee weekly and seasonal Protestant religious education programs.
- Attend scheduled meetings with chapel staff and Government representatives.
- Prepare monthly religious education calendars.
- Cook up facility reservations for classes, services, and special events.
- Prepare flyers and publicity materials for religious education programs.
- Track weekly attendance and submit required reports.
- Aid with regular and seasonal religious education classes.
- Organize curriculum, classroom materials, and program supplies.
- Make copies and distribute materials to designated learning spaces.
- Aid with classroom setup and restore spaces after activities.
- Track and report consumed materials and supplies.
- Support Vacation Bible School and religious education kickoff activities.
- Support community events and Community Readiness/Resiliency Expos.
- Prepare and distribute chapel and deployment-support resources.
- Review child-suitability background-check documents for completeness.
- Maintain professional communication with chaplains, staff, volunteers, parents, and participants.
- Work respectfully in a pluralistic military religious environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Christian Religious Education or a related ministry field from an accredited institution.
- Ability to provide an official diploma or official transcript.
- Recent relevant experience in a military chapel environment as a religious education coordinator, Christian school teacher, youth minister, Bible school teacher, or comparable position.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to prepare calendars, flyers, reports, emails, and other administrative documents.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple programs and deadlines.
- Availability for a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Ability to successfully complete Government-required background and suitability checks involving work with children.
- To obtain and maintain access to Schofield Barracks and other USAG-Hawaii facilities.
