Protein Sales Consultant

About the role
As a Sales Associate at The Chef’s Warehouse, you will act as the face of our company, delivering outstanding customer service and building strong relationships with clients. You will sell our fine products to restaurants, caterers, hotels, and retail establishments while growing revenue, expanding your customer portfolio, and collaborating with our team of experts.
Responsibilities
- Generate sales through new business development and expanding relationships with existing accounts
- Compile lists of prospective customers using networking, industry directories, trade shows, and other sources
- Travel throughout your assigned territory to call on existing and prospective customers
- Present products using samples or catalogs, highlighting key features and benefits tailored to customer needs
- Quote prices and credit terms, prepare contracts, and secure orders
- Provide estimated delivery dates based on production and delivery schedules
- Collect payments and maintain timely account receivables
- Maintain detailed records of business transactions, update expense reports, and keep customer and sales data current in internal systems
- Collaborate with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date
- Track stock levels to align product availability with customer demand
- Develop and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with purchasing contacts
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience in restaurant sales, food sales, professional catering sales, and/or working as a Chef (highly desired)
- High energy, enthusiasm, and strong team-player mentality
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter with a willingness to learn new skills quickly
- College degree desired but not required
- Comfortable gathering and analyzing data to monitor individual and team progress
- Must live within a commutable distance to the assigned geographic sales area
- Reliable transportation and basic computer skills (Microsoft Suite proficiency preferred)
