About the role

The Sales Associate at The Chef's Warehouse is responsible for generating sales, building customer portfolios, showcasing products, sealing deals, and managing inventory awareness. They must thrive in a fast-paced environment with a focus on building lasting relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Generate sales through new business opportunities and expanding relationships with existing accounts
  • Compile lists of prospective customers based on various sources
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to call on existing and prospective customers
  • Present products using samples or catalogs that highlight key features and benefits
  • Quote prices and credit terms to prepare contracts for orders obtained
  • Provide estimated dates of delivery based on production and delivery schedules, and collect payments in a timely manner
  • Maintain detailed records of business transactions, update expense reports, keep internal systems current with customer and sales data, and manage account receivables
  • Collaborate with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date
  • Track stock levels to align product availability with customer demand

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in restaurant sales, food sales, professional catering sales, or being a Chef
  • Positive attitude with high energy, enthusiasm, and a strong team player
  • Excellent organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, and ability to handle multiple projects and initiatives
  • Self-starter with a willingness to ask questions and learn new skills quickly
  • College degree desired but not required
  • Leadership qualities to foster a positive and innovative atmosphere
  • Data-driven approach to monitoring individual and team progress
  • Determined to bring a sense of urgency to the fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • Live within a commutable distance to the assigned geographic sales area
  • Have a reliable form of transportation
  • Have basic computer skills and understanding of Microsoft Suite

Competitive base salary with an uncapped commission plan
