About the role
The Department of State (DOS) - Secret clearance level is seeking a Protective Services Supervisor to oversee protection teams in a high-threat location. The position supports WPS III Task Orders in austere environments.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate contractor-provided protective operations.
- Aid the DS/RSO Watch Officer in the RSO Tactical Operations Center (TOC).
- Supervise all protective operations, including managing the protection cell within the RSO TOC.
- Evaluate threatening situations and deploy additional resources as needed.
- Operate and control communication equipment, monitor and relay radio traffic.
- Communicate with external entities using various voice and text-based technologies.
- Prepare and submit daily and weekly reports.
- Maintain a watch record and ensure PSD paperwork is submitted.
- Monitor and assist with mission planning for PSDs.
- Maintain a database of all protective missions.
- Brief senior U.S. Embassy personnel during emergencies.
Job Qualifications
- U.S. citizen.
- At least 3 years' experience in protective services on WPS III or predecessor contracts, or 2 years with 6 months in TO area.
- At least 7 years' experience in protective security assignments, including 2 years in supervisory or in-charge capacity.
- Completed a supervisory course meeting WPS III IDIQ requirements.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License and Passport with at least 6 months remaining.
- Proficient in English speaking, writing, and communication.
- Passes the pre-employment Physical Readiness Test (PRT).
- Qualifies with Glock-19, M4 or MK18, M240, and M249, completes WPS III PRT.
Training (Paid Training)
- Attend and successfully complete DOS Protective Security Specialist Basic and Quick Reaction Force training.
- Weapon and PRT requalification if applicable.
- Complete WPS III PRT.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions
- Must be medically cleared for overseas travel.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring dexterity, carrying heavy equipment, and operating firearms.
- Physical fitness readiness including running, bench pressing, agility, push-ups, sit-ups, and stretching.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods with minimal breaks.
- Travel long distances by air, helicopter, and road vehicle.
