Protection Officer Security - as-needed Mixed Shifts (Boise)

About the Role

Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Boise, ID is hiring a Protection Officer to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This is a part-time, non-benefited position with rotating shifts, including weekends, weekdays, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a secured environment during disasters, fires, and/or bomb threats.
• Interact daily with the public regarding safety, visitor control, thefts, and any security problems that arise.
• Confront strangers and either direct them to the proper area or escort them off the medical center campus.
• Conduct package inspections and check property leaving the facility for proper authorization.
• Report vulnerable situations, hazards, and/or equipment malfunctions to the proper department or persons for corrective action.
• Check employee and service personnel for proper I.D.
• Physically restrain individuals when necessary to protect patients, visitors, and staff, using the amount of force required for safety.
• Operate motor vehicles, two-way radios, cameras, electronic surveillance equipment, and demonstrate basic computer skills.

Requirements

• Previous security or military experience preferred but not required.
• Must have active driving privileges; any changes or citations must be reported to a supervisor and/or HR.

Schedule

This position is scheduled as-needed for both 12-hour day and night shifts. Hours vary based on business needs and may include weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
