Hanger, Inc., a leading provider of orthotic and prosthetic (O&P) services and products, seeks a Prosthetist and/or Orthotist to join its Patient Care segment in Laguna Hills, California. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians in evaluating and recommending prosthetic and/or orthotic services.
- Evaluate patient needs and formulate design of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices.
- Select materials, make cast measurements, model modifications, and layouts, considering new techniques and materials.
- Perform fitting, ensuring static and dynamic alignments, and adjust devices to ensure fit, function, medical efficacy, and quality of work.
- Instruct patients on the use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices and provide follow-up care.
- Evaluate and address issues/problems to ensure patient satisfaction with devices provided.
- Provide in-service training to physicians and allied health care professionals.
- Utilize effective materials management, quality and performance processes to maximize device quality and medical efficacy.
- Meet with physicians, case managers, and other referral sources to review prosthetic and/or orthotic services and capabilities.
- Plan and implement strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets in coordination with management.
- Provide detailed clinical notes to patient records.
- Mentor residents or newly certified clinicians.
- Provide assistance to other clinical staff.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of business relationships to identify and secure ongoing and future sources of referrals.
- Collaborate with other members of the rehabilitation team and innovate utilizing the latest technology.
Requirements
- Current board certification in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics from the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification (BOC).
- A baccalaureate degree in prosthetics and/or orthotics, or the foreign equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
- The ability to obtain and maintain state licensure if required.
- Thorough understanding of biomechanics, pathomechanics, gait analysis, kinesiology, anatomy and physiology.
- Effective communication skills for accurate, concise, and organized oral and written presentation and reports to patient and staff.
- Ability to assess patient condition and advise physicians on treatment options.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships with physicians, therapists, and patients.
- Active listening, reading and comprehension skills for analyzing reports, charts and correspondence.
- Fine motor skills adequate for scheduling and preparing patients, equipment and supplies for treatment.
- Ability to participate in sustained activities for many hours in duration in accordance with state labor laws.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated past experience in providing prosthetic and/or orthotic services under the supervision of a certified clinician.

Pay
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 yearly + bonus + benefits. This pay range is posted to comply with State Law. Hanger salary ranges vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, geographic location and other variables.
