Prosthetist and/or Orthotist Clinician (CPO, CO, Board Eligible)

About the role
If you're a CPO, CO, or board-eligible clinician interested in joining a high-volume, collaborative clinic in Miami, this role could be a great fit. You'll work alongside experienced clinicians, residents, and technical support, with a particular emphasis on orthotic care. The clinic serves a diverse patient population, including pediatric cases linked to a major children's hospital. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians in evaluating and recommending prosthetic and/or orthotic services based on patient needs.
- Evaluate and formulate treatment plans for patients, ensuring they receive the best possible care.
- Select appropriate materials and perform fittings to ensure patients' comfort and functionality.
- Instruct patients on how to use their prosthetic or orthotic devices and provide follow-up care.
- Identify and address issues related to patient satisfaction with their devices.
- Work closely with other members of the rehabilitation team and utilize innovative technologies to improve patient outcomes.
- Provide in-service training to physicians and allied health care professionals.
- Manage materials and ensure quality control, balancing costs with operational and financial performance.
- Communicate with physicians, case managers, and referral sources to discuss prosthetic and/or orthotic services and capabilities.
- Develop and implement strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.
- Prepare detailed clinical notes for patient records.
- Mentor residents or newly certified clinicians as needed.
- Assist other clinical staff and provide information to administrative staff for reimbursement activities.
- Adhere to safety regulations and comply with relevant government regulations.
- Perform on-call and hospital call duties as needed.
Requirements
- Current board certification in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics from the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification (BOC).
- A baccalaureate degree in prosthetics and/or orthotics, or the foreign equivalent.
- A valid driver's license and driving record meeting Hanger's standards.
- The ability to obtain and maintain state licensure if required.
- Experience in providing prosthetic and/or orthotic services under the supervision of a certified clinician (if not certified).
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have a thorough understanding of biomechanics, pathomechanics, gait analysis, kinesiology, anatomy, and physiology. You should also possess a solid grasp of medical terminology and possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential, as are the ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to changing environments.
