Prosper Seafood - Perishables Rep - Part time

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service; take orders by telephone or in person and answer product questions.
• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product daily; slice, package, label, and rotate products.
• Scan items into Telxon for production and assist in technical areas as needed.
• Use suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and build department sales; make regular announcements about freshly-produced items.
• Clean and sanitize display cases; operate and maintain equipment in compliance with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards.
• Follow departmental SOPs and store operating procedures.

Aguas

• Peel, cut, and chop fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Prepare fresh specialty drinks and food products specific to the Aguas department.

Floral

• Design floral arrangements and provide a variety of fresh, quality products.
• Design and execute merchandising programs; track seasonal records when appropriate.

Market

• Cut, trim, and prepare meat for service counters and self-service areas.
• Ensure proper product rotation and storage; maintain coolers and freezers.
• Weigh, price, and package selections; operate power meat prep and process equipment.

Produce

• Stock and rotate product to ensure freshness.
• Assist the floral department when needed.
• Communicate product knowledge to customers by explaining and providing samples.
• Cut, wrap, and price produce for the sales floor; maintain signing program.

Seafood

• Demonstrate knowledge of various fish and shellfish.
• Weigh, price, and package selections; maintain coolers and freezers.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older.
• Customer service and communication skills; experience with computer systems such as Telxon and ACR, and label machines.
• Reading and writing skills; planning and organizing skills.
• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Completion of Company Orientation and Safety Training.
