Position Overview

We are looking for a Prospect Research Analyst to join our development team at UTHealth Houston. This role involves providing customized information to donors and increasing their contributions through strategic research and analysis.

About the Role

The role focuses on identifying new donors and understanding the potential of existing donors. Key traits include inquisitiveness, curiosity, and intelligence. Experience with Salesforce is an asset, but not required. Excellent communication and data analysis skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in portfolio reviews to develop fundraising strategies.
  • Collects and classifies donor information based on interest, affinity, and financial capacity.
  • Conducts in-depth prospect research to support donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Interprets and synthesizes complex data into understandable information.
  • Creates reports and visuals to describe prospects and donors.
  • Monitors publications and trends in prospect research.
  • Adheres to ethical guidelines and confidentiality policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in journalism, library science, business, or related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum Experience: At least 3 years of work experience in development research, preferably in a complex academic or healthcare environment.
  • Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
  • Security Sensitive: This position is subject to background checks and must adhere to security protocols.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least a bachelor's degree.
  • Must reside in the State of Texas or plan on relocating within ninety days of accepting an offer.
  • Must be able to work in the office regularly during the initial six months of training.

Pay and Schedule

This is a full-time salaried position with a competitive salary and benefits package, including healthcare, time off, and retirement/pension plans.

Schedule

The role works a normal business week and traditional hours. There will be opportunities to work remotely as proficiency increases. The initial six months of training will be conducted in the University Center Tower location at Fannin and Pressler.
