About the role

This engineering function provides engineering design, systems integration, subcontract management, product technical support, and anomaly resolution for Propulsion ground fluids systems (cryogenic, non-cryogenic, hydraulics, and pneumatics).

  • Develop system and component designs and requirements to satisfy overall propulsion systems requirements.
  • Perform mechanical design and understand dynamic, structural, and fluids analysis concepts.
  • Conduct system integration and system-level trade studies to optimize designs for manufacturing, producibility, safety, and performance.
  • Generate engineering drawings as well as assembly and testing requirements.
  • Provide direct support to design teams, suppliers, the factory, and the launch site to ensure production schedules are met, resolve anomalies, and streamline operations.
  • Support causal analysis for anomalies to develop effective resolutions and corrective actions that prevent recurrence.
  • Review as-built product (hardware and associated software) and product test data to verify final product configuration and performance meets requirements.
  • Develop design improvements that reduce cost and risk and/or improve vehicle performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an accredited university/college (Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering highly desired).
  • Minimum of 4 years of related work experience.
  • Ability to work independently to determine and develop solutions to a wide range of engineering problems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Capability to perform system design and integration to meet requirements for manufacturing, producibility, safety, and performance.
  • Desire to work with technical teams in design integration, activation, and sustaining engineering support of Cryogenic, Pneumatic, and Hydraulics Fluid systems.
  • Ability to perform pre-launch walkdowns and console support, including off-shift work to support launch schedules.
  • Physical ability to walk for multiple hours a day, including climbing ladders and stairs.
  • Must complete and maintain certification for work in confined spaces, at heights, in clean room environments, and in areas with loud noises or foreign object debris controls.
  • Must be available for periodic travel to other ULA sites or vendors.
  • Valid driver’s license required for driving between work locations on military bases.
  • Must obtain and maintain a favorable National Agency Check Inquiry (NAC-I) or equivalent for unescorted access to ULA work locations.
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined in ITAR (e.g., U.S. Citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident, or protected individual).

Pay

Salary range: $104,087 – $173,479 (Denver or Cape Canaveral locations only). Salary is based on experience, qualifications, internal equity, and market considerations. Eligible employees may receive a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
