Propulsion Software Design and Release Engineer

Lead embedded system software development projects with suppliers for Propulsion System Control Modules, including Engine, BEV and HEV supervisory controllers, High Voltage Battery controllers, DCDC Converters, On Board Charging Modules, Motor Control Processors, and other propulsion system components.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and integration of program software requirements to satisfy vehicle and component-level functional objectives.
  • Work cross-functionally with software development (supplier or internal), software validation, Calibration Diagnostics, FUSA, and Architecture teams to manage software release timing and meet vehicle build and program milestones.
  • Serve as the lead interface for software issue resolution at both component and vehicle levels.
  • Provide technical input for software coordination and requirements alignment meetings.
  • Coordinate change management for the component software.
  • Support validation, software development, and troubleshooting as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Understanding of Propulsion Systems for ICE, HEV, and BEV applications.
  • Proficiency in CANALYZER, CANOE, and INCA.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electrification architectures including 48V, EV, HEV, PHEV, and BSG systems.
  • Highly motivated with self-motivation.
  • Basic understanding of DVP&R and DFMEA.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced automotive battery design and testing experience.
  • Product Design and Release experience.
  • Experience with Requirements Definition and Management.
  • Experience with Change Control and Issue Management Tracking.
