About the role
The Proposals Development Associate II supports business development in winning new business for ICON by organizing and preparing high-quality, customer-focused proposals and budgets.
Responsibilities
- Lead and prepare complex client-focused proposals, budgets, and client grids for new business opportunities, ensuring all required information is included within the given timeframe.
- Adhere to the proposal process.
- Chair kick-off and resource meetings and coordinate participation of appropriate personnel in the proposal development process.
- Set up and participate in clinical strategy meetings for key and non-key opportunities.
- Liaise with sales, strategic proposal development, and operations to ensure proposals and strategies meet business needs in line with triage priority.
- Prepare costs for proposals by interacting with operational departments to coordinate costs and assumptions.
- Submit the final proposal on time to the Account Manager or designee.
- Coordinate and participate in negotiations and discussions with clients as required.
- Attend bid defense and other client meetings in a support role when required.
- Coordinate and prepare budgets and specifications for contracts for new business awards (where appropriate).
- Clarify contract specifications with the Manager, Proposals; Project Manager; and/or Account Manager (where applicable).
- Solicit input and review of proposals, budgets, and contracts from relevant operational departments, including the Manager, Proposals, and Account Manager.
- Travel at least 5% of the time (international and domestic: fly and drive).
Requirements
- At least 3 years’ relevant experience with a strong working knowledge of the consultancy space and/or Phase II-III clinical trials.
- Exceptional Excel and Word skills.
- Prior Grid Mapping experience required.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
