Proposal Writer (Pursuit Specialist)
About the role
RK&K is seeking an exceptional Proposal Writer (Pursuit Specialist) to join our team in Columbia, SC. In this position, you will collaborate with marketing professionals and technical staff to develop pursuit strategies and produce high-quality proposals. This role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact and grow within a dynamic, full-service planning, engineering, environmental, and construction management firm.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver quality proposals for small and mid-sized municipal and SCDOT projects, as well as firmwide marketing activities.
- Collaborate with staff to plan, design, edit, and produce RFP/RFQ responses, shortlist interviews, and promotional materials.
- Develop, establish, and maintain marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives.
- Monitor, review, and report on marketing activities and results.
- Maintain the marketing database.
- Attend conferences and meetings as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, with responsibilities evolving over time.
Requirements
- BA or BS in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related discipline.
- Two (2) years of experience developing proposals and presentations in the A/E/C industry.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Experience coordinating, preparing, and completing proposals (custom format, SF 330, etc.), including team coordination.
- Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing, reviewing, and proofreading for content, grammar, and style.
- Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment with multiple concurrent deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of database/CRM systems, specifically Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint.
