About the role
The Property Tax Leader at GreatAmerica Financial Services is responsible for ensuring compliance with all aspects of the property tax cycle, focusing on quality control and risk mitigation. This role involves personnel development, strategic compliance initiatives, and process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Function as key point of contact for business operations, understanding and addressing priorities of various corporate, business unit, and functional leadership.
- Lead resolution of lessee and customer questions, and taxing jurisdiction issues pertaining to asset tax coding, property tax charges, and system logic.
- Drive compliance system development and modification, including PTMS, Epicor, and Excel Power Queries and Power Pivots, to ensure the team is performing optimally.
- Champion improvements within the function, including sponsoring and leading strategic property tax initiatives related to program development and compliance-related software changes, as well as policy/procedure changes.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of property tax processes; continually review and enhance quality control processes, identify risks, and drive resolution.
- Oversee account reconciliation process, including resolution of discrepancies and identification of potential process improvements and/or efficiencies.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve complex property tax compliance issues.
- Provide formal coaching and feedback to team members; identify and communicate challenging work that will provide development opportunities; encourage creativity and recognize individual performance.
- Track, review, and report team performance metrics to internal leadership.
- Maintain oversight of team resource needs; effectively communicate updates on resource needs to internal leadership.
- Provide outstanding GreatAmerica Experience for external and internal customers.
Requirements

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
- Seven years or more of directly related property tax experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products primarily Word and Excel.
- Significant experience with property tax software.
