Property Maintenance Specialist

Property Maintenance Specialist is a self-starter responsible for a wide range of seasonal maintenance tasks and upkeep of multiple commercial properties in Rutland, Vermont.

Responsibilities

• Performs grounds maintenance including sweeping parking lots and walkways, litter pickup, emptying trash receptacles, and general repairs to curbs, walkways, signs, and the general site
• Performs snow removal operations during the winter months
• Executes light carpentry repairs and general facilities maintenance tasks
• Maintains and repairs equipment, as necessary
• Adapts and improvises to address unforeseen facility maintenance challenges
• Ensures the overall cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the properties
• Communicates effectively with facility managers and their team members
• Maintains accurate records of facilities maintenance activities
• Performs administrative responsibilities as requested
• Interfaces with subcontractors as necessary and identifies preventive maintenance tasks
• Completes training requirements, both in person and online, as needed or required
• Plows snow during the winter months across various locations in Vermont and New Hampshire
• Operates snow removal equipment such as snowplows, salt spreaders, and snow blowers
• Handles both light and heavy-duty vehicles equipped for snow removal, ensuring safe and clear passage on roads and pathways
• Works in cold weather conditions and performs physical labor as needed

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver’s license
• At least three years of property or facilities maintenance experience preferred
• Experience operating maintenance equipment
• Strong mechanical knowledge
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to drive company truck and trailer when needed
• Good organizational and communication skills
• Responsible, dependable, and safety focused
• Able to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to handle prolonged periods of standing, walking, moving, and lifting
• Able to work outdoors in all weather

Pay

Hourly Hiring Range: $20.80/hr. - $23.00/hr. This range reflects the base pay reasonably expected to offer for this position at the time of posting, considering current market conditions and industry benchmarks. Final and individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
