Property Accountant (remote work)

In a Nutshell

Property Accountant is responsible for leading the full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for a property management portfolio regulated by state and local funding sources. This role delivers timely, accurate financial statements, performs variance analysis, and provides performance insights for leadership. This can be a remote role but the contractor will be required to travel to the client's office for a monthly meeting.

Duties

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations within established deadlines
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Analyze financial reports, including budget to actual variances, and provide clear explanations
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams in annual budget preparation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of accounting experience in property management
• Experience with Yardi property management software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Able to work independently in a remote capacity
