Property Accountant - Hybrid Role / Open due to Promotion / 10% Bonus
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct regular GL reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and principles.
- Prepare and review budget forecasts and variance analysis.
- Manage year-end close processes, including the preparation of audit schedules and liaising with auditors.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of bank and general ledger accounts.
- Handle accruals, prepaids, and other adjusting entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Carry out cash flow analysis and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Use vlookups and other advanced Excel functions for data analysis and reporting.
- Utilize property accounting software for data entry, report generation, and financial analysis.
- Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to ensure all financial and operational data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards and principles.
- Proficiency in Excel, including the use of advanced functions like vlookups.
- Experience with property accounting software is a must.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus, but not required.
