Property Accountant
Position Summary
Day-to-day and monthly close deadlines, including Production, Revenue, JIB, and reconciliations. Provide support to Management to ensure proper and timely completion of operational accounting close functions and assigned projects.
Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Senior Property Accountant and indirectly to the Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller and the Corporate Controller.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain the monthly close process for assigned assets
- Perform revenue allocations and calculations
- Ensure all journals are appropriately completed, supported, and reviewed
- Complete account reconciliations, including accruals, prepaid expenses, revenue, production, and JIB accounting
- Execute special projects and requests from management and operations teams
- Absorb and respond to external audit requests
- Assist with additional oil and gas operational accounting duties
Education And Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting required
- 2-3 years full-cycle accounting experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
- Major ERP system experience is preferred; SAP experience is beneficial
