Propane Service Technician

Duties

  • Tests and examines pipelines and equipment to locate leaks and faulty pipe connections and to determine pressure and flow of gas.
  • Dismantles meters and regulators, and replaces defective pipes, thermocouples, thermostats, valves, and indicator spindles.
  • Prepares and presents estimate for installation and repair.
  • Installs repairs and maintains propane appliances.
  • Responsible for providing emergency response - on call.
  • Propane tank hook up and change out.
  • Heating equipment service and repair.
  • System re-piping and conversion.
  • Performs pump outs.
  • Perms tune ups and gas checks.
  • Provides professional and courteous customer service.
  • Maintains records in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
  • Occasional propane/fuel delivery.
  • Maintain accurate parts inventory.
  • Makes measurements, cuts, and threads pipe and connects it to feeder line and equipment or appliance.

Requirements

  • A Class A or B CDL License and able to get Hazmat, Tanker and Air Brake Endorsement.
  • Pass an MVR check.
  • Drug Screening.
  • Background verification.

Qualifications

  • Propane Service Tech experience is preferred but not necessary.

Skills

  • Proficient in plumbing or HVAC experience (a plus but not required).
