PorterMatt Electric Inc. is seeking a meticulous and highly skilled Proofreader to join our dedicated team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Responsibilities

• Thoroughly review and edit a wide range of documents for errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax.
• Ensure consistency in style, formatting, and terminology across all company materials, including technical reports, project proposals, safety manuals, marketing content, and internal communications.
• Collaborate with various departments, including project management and sales, to refine content and ensure technical accuracy.
• Verify facts, figures, and technical specifications to guarantee the precision of all documentation.
• Assist in maintaining and updating the company's style guide to ensure a consistent and professional brand voice.
• Manage multiple proofreading tasks simultaneously, prioritizing workload to meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality.

Requirements

• Proven professional experience as a proofreader, copy editor, or in a similar role.
• An exceptional command of the English language, with an expert understanding of grammar and punctuation.
• Meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
• A degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field is highly desirable.
• Previous experience proofreading technical or industry-specific content, particularly within the construction or engineering sectors, would be a significant advantage.

Pay

A competitive hourly wage of $27 - $40 USD per hour.
