About the role
The Landesforschungsanstalt für Landwirtschaft und Fischerei M-V (LFA) is an agricultural research institution within the portfolio of the Ministry for Climate Protection, Agriculture, Rural Areas and Environment. Within the Horticultural Competence Centre (GKZ), a position as a project coordinator (w/m/d) is to be filled as part of the model and demonstration project "Organisation of water supply for irrigation in horticulture (WaMaGa)". In this project, the GKZ, together with LMS Agrarberatung GmbH, takes on the regional coordination for the model region of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, with a focus on vegetable and strawberry cultivation. The project is part of a national network led by the Johann Heinrich von Thünen Institute.
Responsibilities
- Networking and professional exchange with stakeholders from horticultural practice, the professional public, administration, and politics
- Organisation and execution of project meetings
- Development of operational water management concepts
- Recording of irrigation water use and calculation of climatic water balances
- Preparation of interim and final reports for the funding body
- Administrative project management
Qualifications
- Completed university degree (B.Sc., Dipl.-Ing. FH or equivalent) in Agricultural Sciences, Horticulture, Environmental Sciences, Water Management, Hydrology, or a comparable field related to agricultural irrigation, water balance, or production horticulture
- Proven knowledge in data collection and analysis
- Knowledge of horticultural production systems and interest in water management issues
- Proficient use of MS Office software applications
- Very good German language skills in written and spoken form (at least C1 level) as well as good English skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Pronounced team orientation
- Valid class B driving licence
- Willingness to travel extensively on business

Pay & Schedule
Part-time position, 30 hours per week. Remuneration up to pay group E 11 TV-L. Fixed-term employment until 31 July 2030. Start date as soon as possible. Application deadline: 06 August 2026.
