Project Superintendent - Millwright - Traveling
Project Summary
The Project Superintendent (PS) oversees field and administrative operations, providing technical direction and managing project costs, productivity, profitability, and quality. This role includes multiple 'steps' based on project size and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists in reviewing shop drawings, submittals, change orders, and purchase orders.
- Collaborates with the Project Manager to develop the project management plan, including scopes, procurement, environmental, time, financial, quality, safety, and risk management plans.
- Conducts weekly coordination meetings and prepares daily field status reports.
- Coordinates documentation of constructability issues, design conflicts, and clarifications.
- Develops and manages the construction plan for successful project execution.
- Ensures work complies with contract terms and conditions for profitability, safety, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Prepares and updates the project schedule and manages it using LEAN processes and Weekly Work Plans.
- Prevents and mitigates claims, documents those that occur, and resolves them promptly.
- Provides leadership and guidance to project team members and subcontractors.
- Manages field operations and ensures project success, including profitability, safety, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Develops and implements project quality and safety plans according to Sundt standards.
- Develops and implements punch list schedules for successful start-up and commissioning of all systems.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills.
- A four-year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and experience in construction.
- A thorough knowledge of construction technology, equipment, methods, negotiations, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety.
- Construction project and supervision experience in similar types of facilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required.
- May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
- May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
- Uses hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
- Interacts with people frequently during a shift/work day.
- Lifts, pushes or pulls objects on an occasional basis.
- Sits, stands or walks short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day.
