About the role
The Department of Family Medicine of the Keck School of Medicine of USC is seeking a Project Specialist to join our team at the National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA).
Responsibilities
- National Outreach and Campaign Coordination:
- Career: Support NCEA’s national outreach and engagement efforts to raise awareness of elder abuse and advance elder justice through coordinated campaigns, strategic partnerships, and nationwide initiatives.
- Tasks: Plan, implement, and manage projects that engage students, professionals, communities, and partner organizations across the country, including annual World Elder Abuse Awareness Day campaigns, the Elder Justice College Ambassadors Program, the Elder Justice Champions Program, and other related initiatives.
- Program and Project Management:
- Career: Provide coordination and project management support for NCEA outreach initiatives and special projects.
- Tasks: Support planning, logistics, scheduling, documentation, and follow-through for meetings, campaigns, and project deliverables; coordinate across team members, partners, and participants to ensure projects move forward efficiently and successfully.
- Additional Project Support:
- Career: Provide general administrative and logistical support for NCEA projects and outreach activities; respond to technical assistance inquiries; conduct literature reviews, draft memos/briefs, and cite check documents; support the NCEA team with other duties as assigned to ensure project success.
Requirements
- Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Gerontology, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Education, Project Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in outreach, project coordination, program coordination, campaign support, communications, public health, non-profit, higher education, or government settings.
- Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with a wide range of staff, partners, and professionals, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and deadlines effectively, passion for social justice, elder rights, public health, or community engagement issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree
- Experience: 2 years
- Skills: Directly related education and experience to be able to advise on project procedures and analysis techniques.

Pay
The hourly rate range for this position is $29.59 - $37.68.
