Job Summary
The Project Specialist performs special project work in assigned area stores, including stripping and waxing floors, carpet extraction, and detail work. They also cover for onsite staff vacancies, performing tasks like hard floor care, carpet maintenance, and other cleaning services. The role involves continuous training of onsite staff on cleaning techniques and safety practices.
Job Tasks
- Performs project work in area stores, such as stripping and waxing floors, carpet extraction, and detail work.
- Moves between locations to cover for onsite staff vacancies.
- Handles hard floor care and carpet maintenance tasks, including stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction, and bonneting.
- Provides other cleaning services such as dusting and routine restroom cleaning.
- Passes along expertise to others and identifies staff development and training needs.
- Trains subordinate staff in job skills, proper cleaning methods, and use of equipment, and safety practices.
- Continually trains store leads on recoating processes, correct stripping procedures, and proper use of stripping equipment.
Physical Demands
- Ability to regularly lift 45 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull floor cleaning equipment over various surfaces.
- Sufficient physical strength, ability, and stamina to perform janitorial tasks.
- Ability to work with a variety of cleaning products.
- Ability to work night shifts and/or very early morning hours as needed.
- Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications
