About the role

The Project Scheduler at Sundt Construction is a key member of the project team responsible for creating and updating Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires a minimum of 3-5 years of CPM scheduling experience in construction projects, particularly those involving power and heavy industrial sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development of claims by analyzing project CPM schedule performance.
  • Aids the Project Superintendent in incorporating design conflicts and clarifications into the CPM schedule.
  • Manages the CPM schedule to ensure project success, coordinating means and methods, manpower, equipment, and materials.
  • Conducts review meetings at proposal, baseline, and update phases.
  • Creates the baseline schedule based on provided project information and historical data.
  • Develops proposal phase CPM schedules from estimating team information and historical database.
  • Produces final as-built CPM schedules upon project completion.
  • Provides monthly status reports to the General Manager regarding CPM schedule progress.
  • Maintains and updates the historical CPM schedule database.
  • Revises project CPM schedules weekly based on superintendent reports.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills.
  • Five years or more of CPM scheduling and field operations experience in construction projects, especially power and heavy industrial sectors.
  • A four-year construction management or engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction technology, equipment, and methods, scheduling systems, negotiations, engineering, and cost control schedules.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required.
  • May reach, stoop, kneel, bend, lift, push, or pull objects on a frequent basis.
  • Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Will interact with people frequently during a shift/workday.
  • Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.
