About the role
The Project Safety Representative at Trio Electric assists the Project Foreman in maintaining safe and healthy working conditions on assigned jobsites. This is an entry-level position into safety.
Responsibilities
- Zero lost time accidents or recordables
- Avoiding lost time & recordable incidents to the maximum extent possible
- Maintaining an industry-leading safety program on assigned jobsite
- Communicating safety incidents, training classes, meetings, and other safety-related information to all employees on assigned jobsite
- Responding to safety incidents and re-adjusting employees' job assignments when necessary
- Conducting accident/incident investigations and communicating summary details to Safety Manager
- Preparing for and administering random drug screens
- Maintaining a neat, workmanlike, and safe manner on jobsites
- Ensuring compliance with safety reporting requirements including Toolbox Talks, Safety Inspections, and Vehicle Inspections
- Maintaining and inputting training qualifications of field and office employees
- Conducting regular safety inspections of the jobsites and submitting results to Safety and HR Manager
- Maintaining and ensuring that each foreman has his/her project MSDS binders and First Aid Kits at all times

- Documenting compliance with safety reporting requirements
Requirements
- Electrical construction knowledge
- Knowledge of Federal and State occupational safety and health regulations, NAPA, ANSI, and a working knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Proficient in construction principles and techniques
- Able to identify materials, equipment, and safety hazards of construction projects
- Maintain strict confidentiality as it relates to the knowledge that this position will be responsible for
- Electrical background
- Able to communicate technical and procedural requirements
- Able to deal with regulatory agencies, consultants, and other contractor personnel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to solve problems related to safety compliance and regulations
- Bilingual highly desired
Qualifications
- Apprentice Electrician
- OSHA 30 Training Certification
- Knowledge of OSHA Standards
- Proficiency in applying rules and regulations to construction projects
