About the role

The Project Safety Representative at Trio Electric assists the Project Foreman in maintaining safe and healthy working conditions on assigned jobsites. This is an entry-level position into safety.

Responsibilities

  • Zero lost time accidents or recordables
  • Avoid lost time & recordable accidents to the maximum extent possible
  • Re-adjust employees' job assignments when necessary
  • Respond to urgent safety issues reported on safety inspections weekly
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the knowledge acquired in this position
  • Communicate safety incidents, training classes, meetings, and other safety-related information to all employees on assigned jobsite
  • Conduct accident/incident investigations and communicate summary details to Safety Manager
  • Inspect jobsites to eliminate or control hazardous conditions
  • Ensure compliance with safety reporting requirements
  • Administer random drug screens
  • Document safety inspections and training qualifications
  • Submit job logs to Safety and HR Manager
  • Maintain and input training qualifications of field and office employees

Requirements

  • Electrical construction knowledge
  • Knowledge of Federal and State occupational safety and health regulations, NAPA, ANSI, and a working knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Proficient in construction principles and techniques
  • Able to identify materials, equipment, and safety hazards of construction projects
  • Electrical background
  • Ability to communicate technical and procedural requirements
  • Ability to deal with regulatory agencies, consultants, and other contractor personnel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual highly desired

Qualifications

  • Apprentice Electrician
  • OSHA 30 Training Certification
  • Knowledge of OSHA Standards
  • Proficiency in applying rules and regulations to construction projects
