Project RIO - Collateral Project Manager
About the role
As a Global Project Manager in Project RIO, you will lead a program to implement a strategic global Collateral operating model for core elements of JPMorgan Asset Management’s (JPMAM) Investment Operations, leveraging Commercial & Investment Banking’s Core Middle Office Services. The goal is to reduce operational and technology complexity, enhance service to global and complex clients, achieve economies of scale, reduce the effort required to add new product capabilities, and improve the timeliness and quality of global data.
Responsibilities
- Serve as migration lead for the outsourcing program, defining the migration strategy, ensuring successful readiness of the system and processes supporting the future strategic operating model, and executing the implementation roadmap.
- Act as business liaison between all functional teams (Sales, Client Services, CAO, Compliance, Legal, Operations, Tech, Finance, and other control functions), the service provider, other third-party vendors, and the internal program team.
- Work closely with Collateral workstreams to:
- Design, manage, and execute the migration Command Centre and implementation playbook.
- Establish and manage appropriate governance, leadership, and resources around all aspects of running the initiatives (e.g., regulatory, risk, financial, people, technology).
- Ensure effective communication and escalation on overall program status, implementation plans, management issues, priorities, and risks.
- Work with Collateral and Derivative Middle Offices to confirm requirements and solutions for migration.
- Partner closely with global and regional managers to establish consistency, best practices, and provide thought leadership.
- Collaborate with business partners and operational leaders to ensure the future-state system is fully ready to support JPMorgan Asset Management’s outsourced functions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant project management experience.
- Proven ability and experience in implementing large strategic initiatives with significant technology and operational components.
- Experience in Operations outsourcing in Asset Management or a Financial Institution.
- Strong sense of prioritization and ability to execute against deliverables.
- Able to take personal accountability for projects and issue resolution.
- Analytic problem solver with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to build strong, cohesive partnerships with business, operations, technology, and other key stakeholders, and work effectively in a matrix organization.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and get the best out of a high-performing team of operations professionals.
- Ability to challenge and influence stakeholders to ensure decisions are well thought out and executable from an operations perspective.
- Excellent understanding of the investment process and associated market practices, with the ability to think strategically about business-led solutions.
- Product knowledge of Investment Management offerings (e.g., Mutual Funds).
- Experience in Collateral and Derivative Operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Investment Accounting / Middle Office.
